Walking for Pula

Posted on July 30th, 2012

Early Saturday morning I joined Elise and the whole student body, staff, and faculty of Noka ya Botshelo (Chobe River School) for a brisk walk to town.  The whole purpose was to raise funds for the school.  Each student found a sponsor for the walk as well as carried donation containers to solicit funds from the general public.  Our walk took us down the scenic route to town and thankfully we were not met by elephant or the naughty baboons!  The road we took winds its way down the hill to the town below, with a spectacular view of the brilliant blue Chobe River wending its way to the mighty Zambezi.

The destination was the shopping mall where staff and faculty passed out brochures on the school while the students asked shoppers for donations.

After a successful solicitation, the whole group grueled their way back up to the top of the hill for a cook out and other fun activities at school.

Combining fun and finances has enabled Noka ya Botshelo to have some extra funds for various needs at the school.
